from the POV of a person who left their meds in avdol's fortune-telling shop... for whatever reason.

btw i've been having a hard time getting his hair to look right and i don't know why

anubis and medjed

 

 

two egyptian gods residing in the underworld. here they're both dressed in traditional egyptian men's clothing.

medjed himself actually looks like a bedsheet ghost with legs poking out, two eyes and no mouth, so i tried to make him look more human without compromising his silhouette. 

for some reason i wanted to try drawing without lineart in a while. i guess it looked pretty good

stardust crusaders awakened me to the charm of late showa era items (although showa nostalgia is mostly about 1950s to 1970s), so thanks for that, araki-sensei

shione umi (vocaloid/utau style oc)

 

yknow i should have uploaded this earlier...

an oc made in the style of UTAU voicebank avatars and vocaloid-style original characters, especially around 2009-2012 which were heavily inspired by hatsune miku, kagamine rin and len, megurine luka, meiko and kaito. 

the art style here is made to look like something out of said time frame itself (which i have a bit of a nostalgia of), referenced from fan art archived on danbooru and zerochan.  

for some reason there seems to be only a few nautical/sailor-themed UTAUs? and thought it'd be a nice concept for such a character. it's oddly surprising that i couldn't find any character with "shione" in their name.

 

bonus: i've also doodled umi's design progression if she (hypothetically) gets gradual voicebank upgrades.

in the telephone booth

 oh hey it's been 3 weeks. im still getting used to blogging and kind of stuck on mainstream social media. also, custom layouts are confusing so i ended up using a default one. (with a little customization)

for the main topic, this was something i drew the other day. there were a lot of difficult stuff to draw, especially with the background. on the other hand, researching vintage japanese payphones was a lot of fun! it turns out there were different phones with different colors.

i even did the math if jotaro would fit into that telephone booth, for an extra dose of realism (it was through a david bowie photograph). the result: he'd almost reach the ceiling; a telephone booth is usually 2.0-2.6 meters tall.

kind of a failed attempt. i dont know. probably would be useful someday.
