feeling clueless

 i really should get myself back to blogging. how the hell do i blog.

at first i just wanted this to be a repository/gallery for my drawings but i don't know. what do i do. 

checked out a new music artist

(not exactly new since the artist was mainly active in the 80s-90s)

recently discovered toshinobu kubota and his funky, jazzy music. definitely a new addition to my playlist!i'm not a music nerd so i'm not gonna pay attention to the feels/compositional details. 

the first time i came across his name was through a profile sheet of one of my favorite characters: jotaro kujo from jojo's bizarre adventure. his official profile states that kubota is his favorite artist. i didn't bother to look him up at first, and just got my knowledge through tumblr posts and tags discussing the character. "jazzy love songs?" okay. a screenshot of his wikipedia info? okay. 

what finally caught my attention, though, was a tiktok video about jotaro's canonical music preference. and soon after i went digging. my first listen was kubota's debut album, "shake it paradise" (through the tiktok). as i listened i thought, "his english is really good" and nothing else. still a pretty solid album imo

from youtube recommendations i try his other albums/songs, but some of them didn't really do it for me. "such a funky thang"? "hit by a time shower"? "cymbals"? ehhh...  i don't know. maybe i should give them another listen someday. i personally love "kitakaze to taiyo" from "groovin'" and "a night in afro blue" from "bumpin' voyage" but i've yet to listen to the rest of both albums. 

while i am not sure if i'll listen to more of his stuff, especially newer ones, i'm glad i've discovered them. thank you jotaro kujo and hirohiko araki.

pretty much alive, but i don't really know what to post here....

ive been drawing requests for mermay, that is, the "mermaid month" art theme thing. merfolks aren't what i usually draw, but it's a nice opportunity to learn to draw bodies of water and thinking about stories/scenarios for drawings.

by the way: somehow i've always had one or more users who like merfolk stuff in my ranks (read: viewer/follower base). i wonder if it's just a coincidence?

for some reason my blog has been receiving mysterious views from unknown sources for a while. i guess turning off the pageview counter was a good choice after all. some say it's a referrer spam, and i think i will go with that (though there are no referring URLs in the stats)

april fools, huh...

 it's that day of the year where people make up harmless lies and prank others. 

from fake products, fake advertisements, fake announcements... all as a joke. sometimes it's a rather convincing lie, sometimes it's just so obviously fake it loops back to being funny. sometimes there's so much effort went in it, sometimes it's very cheap. nevertheless, i enjoy seeing what sort of fake stuff people make up on this day. 

to be frank, i can make up some small lies, but i'm pretty bad at convincing people that something is a lie. i don't really know what kind of prank i could pull, aside from changing layouts or announcing a fake comic book or something.

that being said, i find this to be a pretty fun event. as long as there are no incidents, that is.
